For him, the best way to immerse himself in the culture is to cook up a typical Vietnamese meal. As a special treat for Lunar New Year, Herman makes his favorite Vietnamese cuisine banh chung (stuffed sticky rice cake) stuffed with meat, green beans and glutinous rice inside phrynium leaves or banana leaves, using a homemade square cardboard as a mold. "Banh chung is the meal I cook every year during Tet. Despite the difficulty in obtaining the necessary ingredients, I continue to do my best efforts to recreate Vietnamese-style cakes here,” the Chinese-Indonesian young man told Zing. An HCMC City Covid-19 treatment field hospital has helped get a South Korean man infected with Covid-19 home. According to HCM City’s Field Hospital 16, the 58-year-old man was received by South Korea’s Gangnam Severance Hospital on January 22. The patient transported to Tan Son Nhat International Airport to take the flight to South Korea The patient had breathing difficulties and high blood pressure On January 6. He tested positive for Covid-19 at a hospital in District 7. Because of his worsened condition, he was moved to Field Hospital 16. He then had to use the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) method. HCMC has 88 Omicron variant infection cases so far Deputy Director of HCMC Center for Disease Control (HCDC) Nguyen Hong Tam reported that the city has recorded 88 cases of Omicron variant, including 5 community ones. “All 5 community cases are related to one patient coming from the US as informed before. No more new community cases have been detected so far. Among the 88 Omicron cases, 7 have mild symptoms like mild fever, chills, sore throat”, said the Deputy Director. An orange grove worth hundreds of billions in Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province is now ripe and ready for harvesting. Farmers are stocking up to prepare for the Tet season when prices go up. Huong Son district is considered the capital of oranges, with more than 1,000 hectares, estimated for an output of over 10,000 tons. Annual revenue from oranges is up to hundreds of billions of VND.
