The programme featured special singing and dancing performances by famous artists such as Duyen Huyen, Pham The Vi, Thanh Su, Thanh Tam, Ngoc Tuan, Luu Hien Trinh, Ho Trung Dung, and Hien Thuc. It highlighted local residents’ national pride, aspiration for reforms, and joyfulness at national development. Vietnam logs 730 new COVID-19 cases on July 2
COVID-19 vaccination (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam reported an additional 730 COVID-19 cases and no death on July 2, according to the Ministry of Health. The new infections brought the country’s total caseload to 10,748,127 since the pandemic broke out. As many as 9,694 patients were declared to be free from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 on the day, raising the total number of recoveries to 9,699,357. Meanwhile, the death toll related to the disease was kept at 43,047, accounting for 0.4% of the total infections. More than 233.09 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Vietnam to date, including 18.51 million doses for children aged between 12-17 and 8.23 million doses for kids from 5-11 years old./. HCM City’s CPI picks up 0.91% in June

(Photo: VNA) HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City ’s Consumer Price Index ( CPI ) edged up 0.91 percent in June , with nine out of 11 groups of goods and services recording an increase in prices, the municipal Statistics Office reported. Prices of transport services soared 3.89%, largely due to a 7.18% spike in petrol prices after they were revised up three times in June. Those of gas and other energy products, meanwhile, declined 6.09%, the office said. Prices of food and dining services picked up 1.05% during the month. Those of rice, a major component of food, grew 0.57% on the back of low supply as the Winter-Spring harvest nears end. Prices of foodstuff surged 1.27% last month, with the growth seen in various products, such as fresh, dried and processed vegetables (4.47%), eggs (2.59%), confectionery (1.65%), poultry meat (1.58%), and fresh and processed fruits (1.54%).
