The number of people buying tours to Manila has experienced a rapid surge since Saturday night, soon after Vietnam advanced to its first SEA Games final in 10 years. The final match of the SEA Games men’s football will be played Tuesday. Tours priced from VND9.5 million ($409) to VND15 million ($646) are almost sold out, local operators said. A representative of local tour operator Vietravel said over 500 slots departing from Da Nang City, Hanoi and HCMC to Manila were sold out. "We are working with airlines to open additional flights to cater to the growing travel demand, the representative said. Leading travel company Saigontourist has sold 60 percent of its tours and continued to receive bookings until Tuesday morning. There is a ‘vendetta’ hard to settle between Vietnam and Thailand in women’s football in Southeast Asia and they will take on each other in the finale of the category at the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines on Sunday. The final showdown at 7:00 pm at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila will be a clash between the arch-enemies to prove the winners are the absolute queens of the Beautiful Game in the region. At the 2019 SEA Games, the Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar were placed in Group A while Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia made up Group B. Vietnam Airlines to increase flights to Philippines for football fans
Illustrative image (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced on December 7 that it will have six more flights to Manila on December 10 to serve football fans, who want to watch the finals of SEA Games 30's men football between Vietnam and Indonesia. The additional services from Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City to the Philippine capital of Manila will provide more than 1,300 seats. The added flights, using Airbus A321 and wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners, are scheduled to depart from Vietnam on the morning of December 10 and return home on the early morning of the following day. Vietnam Airlines is also cooperating with several travel agencies to create two-day tours on December 10 and 11 by combining air tickets with travel services to help fans enjoy the atmosphere of the SEA Games. Like other coastal areas in the country, the province is being polluted by the daily dumping of waste into the ocean. While there is no shortage of environmental management efforts in Trat, dealing with waste, particularly plastic pollution, remains a big struggle.
