The patient is a 45-year-old male Malaysian national who resides in Singapore. He tested positive on Wednesday. Three close contacts of the man were identified as of Wednesday, and all will be placed under quarantine for 21 days since their last contact with him, the statement added. He had symptoms such as lower abdomen skin lesions, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, fever and a sore throat. His condition is stable and he is currently in a ward at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) in Singapore, the ministry said, adding that the transmission risk to the general public remains low. It was good question, asked in reaction to a recommendation by the nation's top prosecutor that people guilty of corruption be allowed lighter sentences in exchange for money and assets. But I didn't know how to answer that question right off the bat. I don't think that the proposal, which was put forward by Le Minh Tri, head of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam, at a conference to review last 10 years of the anti-corruption movement, can be boiled down to "right" or "wrong". Tri argued that the fight against corruption should be more about preventing it and less about punishing the crime ; and that those guilty of corruption and economic crimes can be given opportunities to fix their misdeeds. That would not only allow the state to recover its lost assets, but also be a humane gesture. There is some merit to this argument, I thought. The Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported an additional 913 Covid-19 infections, raising the country's total tally to over 10.75 million. Border guards of the Central Highland province of Gia Lai said on July 6 that they had started legal proceedings against a man for allegedly trafficking seven Jrai ethnic teenagers from Gia Lai to Cambodia. Border guards from La O commune arrest Tran Quang Quyet for trafficking seven ethnic teenagers into Cambodia.
