The organisers said the tournament would be followed by the T99 Vietnam Amateur Series 2022. About 100 amateurs aged 45-55 for women and 50-60 for men and higher aged golfers are expected to join the tournament. The championship started in 2008, with Andrew Hung Pham (men) bagging five championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2021. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung (women) won in 2008 and 2021. The VGA and VGS signed a strategic cooperation deal with the Technology Finance, namely T99 Group, in which T99 will become the main sponsor of the T99 Vietnam Amateur Series 2022. Second National Paragliding Club Championships 2022 starts
The second National Paragliding Club Championships 2022 opens on Ly Son Island off the coast of Quang Ngai Province on May 21. The competition comprises individual man and individual women categories and team classification. Each team is made up of a maximum of seven pilots. Pilots will take off from a point on Thoi Loi Mountain and land on the 500-square-meter area. The competition will run from May 21 to 22. Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai Province Nguyen Tien Dung said that the event aims to enhance the strength training movement and contribute to the propaganda on national sovereignty over sea and islands among people as well as promote Ly Son’s tourism. The Vietnam women’s football team have wrapped up their 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games campaign in style after grabbing a 1-0 victory against archrivals Thailand in the title match on Saturday night to successfully defend their gold medal at the region’s largest sporting event.
