According to Director of the agency Phan Van Men, unemployment coverage is expected to expand to 52 percent of the workforce, or 2.35 million, this year. The number of those joining health insurance is expected to exceed 7.6 million, equivalent to 89 percent of the city’s population. The municipal insurance agency aims to collect some 66 trillion VND (over 2.8 billion USD) of social, health and unemployment insurance premiums in the year, up 10 percent against the figure of 2018. Thailand’s Pollution Control Department (PCD) air quality measurement stations have reported PM 2.5 levels across the Thai capital have reached detrimental levels of between 48-79 micrograms per cubic meter. Cloudy conditions have intensified the situation with rates measured along Kanchanaphisek road reaching 73 micrograms per cubic meter. Levels as high as 78 micrograms per cubic meter were measured in Phra Pradaeng district of Samut Prakan province and a reading of 79 was found in Nakhon Pathom. Those same areas are also being affected by high levels of PM 10 with readings spanning 60 to 125 micrograms per cubic meter.
