Viet Nam News HCM CITY– The fourth industrial revolution is dramatically affecting labour markets around the world, including in Việt Nam, creating new kinds of jobs for which there will be expected shortages. Trần Anh Tuấn, deputy head of HCM City’s Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information, said that Việt Nam was already using “smart” factories, where robotics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and data analytics were being used to link production and logistics processes, and make manufacturing more intelligent, efficient and sustainable. The IT industry, recognised as the strategic sector in the 2019-2025 period, will need far more skilled workers than it has today. 7-day Tet Holiday break planned for state employees
State employees will enjoy a 7-day break for Tet Holiday this year, from February 14 to 20. Vietnamese labourers will have 7-day break for Tet Holiday 2018 The Government Office has sent prime ministerial approved document about Tet Holiday break for state employees to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. The ministry's Department of Work Safety will complete the procedures and sent the official announcement for the ministry's approval. Labours will be off from February 14 to February 20. As February 17 (Saturday) and 18 (Sunday) are the second and third days of the lunar new year, civil servants will have two extra days off, on February 19 and February 20. The prime minister asked state agencies to arrange shifts so that the work will not be interrupted. The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted two different plans and asked for opinions from other ministries in October. HCM City requires 78,000 new employees in third quarter

Most of the vacancies are expected to be in sales and marketing, mechanics, architecture and civil engineering, information technology, garment and textile – footwear, human resources management, corporate management and accountancy. The local labour market needs more high-quality and skilled workers in key sectors, said FALMI Deputy Director Tran Anh Tuan. Vung Tau Paradise Resort lowers criteria for new investors
A number of domestic and foreign investors, including Geleximco, Vingroup, and Sebrina Holdings Pte., Ltd., among others, expressed interest in developing the unfinished Vung Tau Paradise Resort after the Ba Ria-Vung Tau People’s Committee lowered the criteria to select new investors to replace Vung Tau Paradise Company, according to newswire Phapluat.
