Coca Cola joins locals in Da Nang in “For a Viet Nam without Waste” programme

The event, joined by representatives from agencies and the local community, is one of the activities organised by Coca-Cola Vietnam and local authorities in Da Nang and HCM City under the "World Without a Waste" vision. With many activities over a half-day, the “For a Vietnam Without Waste” event aims to raise public awareness of waste sorting, encourage people to use reusable bags, and promote a green lifestyle and sustainable production and consumption. Coca-Cola Vietnam handed Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade 90 segregation trash bins and 4,000 reusable bags, worth VND700 million. Stamp collection featuring famous Vietnamese waterfalls released

The four 43x32mm stamps, designed by painter Nguyen Duc Lan, depict the waterfalls of Dai Yem in northern Son La province, May in central Thanh Hoa province, Pongour in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, and Suoi Tranh in southern Kien Giang province. Dai Yem is at its most beautiful in the rainy season, when strong flows of upstream water fall to create a breathtaking view. It has long been a magnet for visitors in the magnificent and poetic Moc Chau Plateau. Boasting pristine beauty with crystal clear waters, the over-100m May Waterfall is a charming destination in Thach Lam commune of Thanh Hoa’s Thach Thanh district. North-South express railway to seek Politburo’s approval

(Photo: VietnamPlus) Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Transport will submit to the Politburo for consideration an investment policy for the construction of a North-South express rail link, which would cost up to 58.71 billion USD, this September. The ministry has been conducting numerous studies on the scheme since 2005. The ministry has consulted various ministries, central organisations, experts and scientists to develop and revise the pre-feasibility report for the project. It has asked for written agreement from 20 cities and provinces where the railway will pass through. A State Appraisal Council has also been established by the Government in 2019 to assess the pre-feasibility report, given that it is an unprecedentedly large project. The 1,435mm dual gauge railway will be around 1,545km in length, running through 20 cities and provinces, including Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. Hospitals run out of beds as respiratory diseases spike among children in Hanoi, Saigon

Many hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have run out of beds as an increasing number of children have been infected with various respiratory diseases like COVID-19, influenza, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Nguyen Thanh Nam, director of the Pediatric Center of Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, said that the facility has been providing treatment for about 130 young patients with respiratory diseases such as flu, nasopharyngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia over the past month. The same situation was recorded at the Vietnam National Children's Hospital and National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in the capital city. On Saturday, P.V.Q. took his one-year-old son to a private hospital, where the boy was diagnosed with pneumonia. China Homelife exhibition to open in Viet Nam for the first time
