The newly recognised national intangible cultural heritage include brocade weaving of the M'Nong people in Binh Phuoc province, Chua Ba Festival in Binh Dinh province, Ba Trieu Temple Festival in Thanh Hoa province, the decorative art on costumes of the Mong Hoa people in Tuyen Quang Province and tofu making craft in Vinh Long Province. The intangible cultural heritage elements have been divided into the four categories of traditional handicrafts, traditional festivals, social practices and beliefs, and folklore knowledge. Vietnam sees increasing investment in education: report

(Photo: vnies.edu.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Investment in education in Vietnam tended to increase steadily over the past decade, according to a report by the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences ( VNIES ). The report annalysing the education sector during 2011-2020 was released at a seminar in Hanoi on August 8. According to the report, the investment in the education sector accounted for more than 18% of the total state budget expenditure, but was still lower than the set rate of 20%. Talking about the outcomes of the analysis at the event, Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, head of the institute, said Vietnam achieved impressive results in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), an international study that was launched by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 1997. P/S extends collaboration with Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association
P/S of Unilever Vietnam and the Viet Nam Odonto-Stomatology Association have announced a collaboration agreement to prolong the Protecting Vietnamese Smiles programme to 2027. The programme is a component of a strategic partnership between the two parties to enhance oral health and reduce oral diseases by 10 per cent in Viet Nam between 2022 and 2027. Under the collaboration, the two sides will strengthen education on appropriate oral hygiene habits including organising communication initiatives to inspire 20 million people to properly brush their teeth day and night to prevent oral health issues. In addition, they will co-ordinate to implement the School Dentistry programme to directly approach and spread the formation of healthy daily brushing habits to 2.6 million primary and preschool children The oral health checks among the community will also be organised with free dental examinations and consultations for 100,000 children and the elderly. Mother Sam’s ‘superhuman strength’ supports 300 children in Vietnam
As a social contributor in the United States, Mother Sam was twice granted the presidential lifetime achievement award for her social devotion. Ai Hong Sam, a Vietnamese-American doctor, has fostered hundreds of children for a simple reason that is “allowing these orphans to call me 'mom' as they have long desired.” At that time, the Vinh Son orphanage in Thong Nhat Ward under Kon Tum Province, located in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam, was struggling to survive as it was home to hundreds of orphans, who were in desperate need of nurturing.
