More Vietnamese willing to donate organs after death

When the Vietnam National Coordinating Center for Human Organ Transplantation was established in 2014, it received just 200 registrations, most including center officials and staff while the rest comprised medical workers. The number rose to more than 20,000 in 2017 and over 46,000 in 2021. Currently, it stands at almost 50,000. In the past, Vietnamese were not willing to share parts of their bodies as many believed one should die wholly to prepare for the afterlife, said Center Director Dong Van He at its meeting in Hanoi on Monday. However, in recent years, many "touching" stories about donations following brainstem death have inspired people to change their views about dying, he said. Donors on the list come from all walks of life and are of various ages. Many are members of one family. Vietnamese steel faces more trade remedy lawsuits

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has launched a trade remedy duty evasion investigation into a number of steel pipe products imported from Viet Nam. — Photo diendandoanhnghiep.vn The Mexican Secretariat of Economy has announced an anti-dumping investigation into cold-rolled steel imported from Viet Nam, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT). The investigated products are classified under HS codes 7209.16.01, 7209.17.01, 7209.18.01, 7209.26.01, 7209.27.01, 7209.28.01, 7209.90.99, 7211.23.03, 7211.29.99, 7211.90.99, 7225.50.07, and 7226.92.06. Statistics from the International Trade Centre (ITC) showed that Viet Nam earned US$220 million from exporting iron and steel, mostly those coded HS 7209 and 7210, to Mexico in 2020, an increase of 70 per cent compared to 2019. The export earnings of cold rolled steel which are under investigation reached $50 million. Vietnam’s digital transformation is designed to be based on three main pillars namely institution, infrastructure, and manpower. Digital transformation plays a major role in building an independent and integrated economy, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the statement today. MoIT ready to help Vietnamese companies access Côte d’Ivoire market

The agency has strived to deploy trade promotion and investment solutions based on the application of information technology, aiming to help Vietnamese companies maintain contact with potential foreign partners and investors to explore collaboration opportunities. Côte d'Ivoire is Vietnam's second-largest trading partner and fourth-largest export market in Africa, according to Nguyen Phuc Nam, deputy head of the Asia-Africa Market Department under MoIT. The value of two-way trade has amounted to more than 1 billion USD per year between 2017 and 2021. Bilateral trade recorded a strong recovery last year, reaching nearly 1.26 billion USD, up 38.7% from 2020.
