Two new inventions of Viettel Aerospace Institute were granted patents in the US, the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group announced on May 26. The exclusive protection has been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for Viettel’s two inventions in the fields of optoelectronics and materials science. The first is a curved mirror optical system for medium wave thermal imaging devices that was created in 2017, addressing the issue of designing and manufacturing camera cores, thereby minimizing import. The second patent was granted to a method to manufacture composite materials that can withstand high temperatures and harsh conditions for military use. Overseas Vietnamese visit Truong Sa island district and DK1 platforms
The visit, spanning from May 17-25, was delayed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the visit, overseas Vietnamese (OV) were updated on information related to the daily life and working conditions of officers and soldiers on duty in Truong Sa (Spratly) island district and on DK1 platforms. Meanwhile, OVs were engaged in many activities, including presenting gifts to troops and local people in the island district, visiting schools, residents’ houses, and pagodas on cays, attending a flag-salute ceremony, offering incense to heroic martyrs and President Ho Chi Minh, to name but a few. Of which, only 18 percent of them produce fabric materials, 12 percent produce yarn, 2 percent produce other materials, and the rest are garment enterprises. The elections were conducted within the framework of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)’s 78th session held in Bangkok from May 23 to 27.
