Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong, a 23-year-old beauty from southern province of Dong Nai, was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2022 during the pageant’s finale held in Quy Nhon City on Friday evening. Phuong surpassed 36 other candidates from across the country to win the title in the final round of Miss World Vietnam 2022, which took place at the MerryLand Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, south-central Vietnam. With the height of 1.7 meters and body measurements of 82-63-92 centimeters, the Dong Nai contestant is a billingual anchorwoman at the Vietnam Television who used to be in the top 5 of Miss Vietnam 2020 and the winner of Miss Dong Nai University in 2018. Nearly 460,000 people test knowledge on Vietnam-Laos relations through online quiz

The contest forms part of the activities to mark the Vietnam – Laos and Laos – Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962 – 2022), and 45 years of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 – 2022). Vietnam calls for restraint amid US House Speaker’s Taiwan visit
Vietnam adheres to the ‘one-China’ policy and hopes the relevant parties to exercise restraint and not to escalate tension in the Taiwan Strait area, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. The foreign ministry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang was speaking at a press briefing in Hanoi in response to reporters’ questions about the current situation of the Taiwan Strait. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, had landed in Taiwan for a visit on Tuesday. E-book “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era - A Television History” debuts (Photo: nhandan.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – A 90-volume e-book titled “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era - A Television History” was released by the Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Party Central Committee (PCC)'s Commission for Information and Education, and the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House at a ceremony in Hanoi on August 10. The book series is compiled on the basis of a documentary film of the same name which was aired in 2021. It was developed by the Vietnam National Documentary Film Studio in coordination with the PCC's Commission for Information and Education, and the Su That National Political Publishing House. South Korean singer releases music video promoting Vietnam’s tourism
South Korean singer Joseph Kwon on Wednesday released his latest music video – an ode to popular tourist attractions across Vietnam in commemoration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea. Ta Quang Dong, deputy minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Ha Van Sieu, deputy director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, were among those present at the music video premiere, which was held in Hanoi. During the ceremony, Joseph Kwon officially released two songs, Butterfly Flakes and Waiting For You, 5000 Years , both of which he composed and performed. ‘The Sandman’ inspired by Vietnam’s Golden Bridge
Ian Markiewicz, a visual effects supervisor, told VnExpress that Vietnam's Golden Bridge was the source of inspiration for the design of the two-handed bridge that character Martin Tenbones rows across in the opening scenes of the film. Many Vietnamese viewers were surprised to see the bridge with two supporting hands that connects with the castle of Morpheus, because it seemed similar to the Golden Bridge in Da Nang. Vietnamese netizens were also happy about it, saying it would promote Vietnam’s tourism image among the international community.
