(CPV) - Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed Decisions appointing two additional Vice Heads to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Decision 1599/QD-TTg (dated August 16th, 2016), the PM appointed Mr Nguyen Ba Hung, Head of the Americas Department (under Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam) cum Head of Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP) as Vice Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr Ba Hung was born 1961 in Central Ha Tinh province. In July 2011, he was appointed by the State President Truong Tan Sang to the rank of Ambassador, and then was appointed as Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Le Hai Binh, also a master and instructor in Vovinam, a traditional Vietnamese martial art, revealed that the discipline’s combination of flexibility and stiffness are perfect for a diplomat. Around 7:00 pm on a freezing wintery day in Hanoi, nearly 200 Vovinam followers were ready for a practice session held on the campus of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The instructor was Master Binh, who was appointed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson in February 2014 at the age of 37. The Czech delegation held a negotiation with standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Cong Phung, during which the two sides informed each other of the current situations of the respective countries, discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern and discussed measures to strengthen the relations between the two countries as well as further enhance the co-ordination between the two ministries. In the morning of 02 November 2010 Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the reception and worked with the Delegates of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs on SODI project led by Mr. Koppetsch, an officer of the Mine Action Program of the German Foreign Affairs. At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Van Cao appreciated the results gained by the projects of landmine clearance in Thua Thien Hue province through Germany's SODI. Since 2006 SODI has cleared unexploded mines and ordnances of about 506 ha of contaminated land in Huong Tra and Quang Dien districts. About 20,000 mines and unexploded ordnances were found and cleared. PANO - The Department of Information and Press, acting in proxy for the Foreign Minister, hailed several groups and individuals from the People’s Army Newspaper for their best coverage of external affairs and propaganda of Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2010.
