Originally called Khanh Hai, the Nai seafood market acquires its name from its location in the Nai lagoon, between the Ninh Chu and Tri Thuy bridges, in Ninh Hai District. This is the most famous seafood market in Ninh Thuan Province and is at its busiest in the afternoon, when boats with baskets of fresh seafood return from the sea. The market sells a variety of seafood, from mackerel scad and red snapper to shrimp and crab. Seafood sold here are both farm raised and caught at sea. Most sellers in the market are families of fishermen and traders in the area. When shopping at the Nai market, customers do not have to bargain because merchants are invariably friendly and honest. Depending on the variety, people can purchase lobster for a price of VND200,000-900,000 ($8.6-39) per kilo. Wild caught lobster costs the most, with a starting price of VND700,000 ($30) per kilo. After his rescue the sun bear received the medical treatments he needed and is fully recovered now, says Animals Asia, an organization that advocates against cruelty to animals. It runs a bear rescue center in Ninh Binh Province, two hours ride to the south of Hanoi. China prevents Vietnamese fishermen from recovering sunken vessel
The National Committee for Incident, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue said that a fishing vessel from the central city of Da Nang had sunk near the Passu Keah Reef on Wednesday. Nine fishermen on board were rescued by a Vietnamese ship, and the Da Nang People’s Committee requested China to help the owner recover the sunken vessel. The owner later hired two ships from the central province of Quang Ngai Province to salvage the ship. However, instead of helping, a Chinese speedboat deliberately thwarted efforts to recover the sunken Vietnamese vessel Thursday.
