TAT aims for 10% rise in Vietnam tourist arrivals this year By Mong Binh - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in HCMC is looking to a 10% increase in Vietnamese visitors to Thailand this year over last year given positive signals from this market in the last couple of months. Pichai told the Daily on the phone on Tuesday that the number of Vietnamese traveling to Thailand had been in the upward trend since last September in line with the recovery of the global tourism industry. Thailand served more than 324,200 Vietnamese travelers in the first 11 months of 2009, a year-on-year increase of almost 3%. "This is the latest figure we have and we are right now checking the number for the whole year," Pichai said.
