Shortly after the match at Binan stadium in the Philippines began, Thailand scored two continuous goals at the fifth and 11th minutes. However, at the 15th minute, Nguyen Tien Linh of Vietnam broke through three Thai defenders in the box to head the ball in from a cross in the left wing. Vietnam has been honored as the “World’s Leading Heritage Destination 2019” at the 26th World Travel Awards (WTA) held recently in Oman, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). The recognition of Vietnam as the world’s leading heritage destination reaffirms the country’s efforts to preserve cultural heritages and boost its status on THE global tourism map, the WTA said. Vietnam is home to eight world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An ancient town, the Complex of Hue Monuments, Ha Long Bay, Trang An Landscape Complex, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Ho Dynasty Citadel. Vietnam defeated hosts Philippines 2-0 on Thursday night to advance to the final in women’s football, where they will clash with archrivals Thailand, at the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. The defending champions dominated the game from kick-off, but only managed to score goals in the second half. In the fourth minute, Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen Thi Binh Thuy penetrated the penalty area and aimed for the far corner, only to miss the post. Nine minutes later, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung delivered a volley just outside the box but her goal was denied by a remarkable save from Filipina goalie Inna Palacios. SEA Games 30: Vietnam stays at second place on December 5

The gold medals were in Pencak Silat, fencing and swimming. Vietnam now has 31 gold, 35 silver and 41 bronze medals, second only to host Philippines which owns 63 golds, 45 silvers and 31 bronzes. Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Vuong Bich Thang said the gold medals are all anticipated and targeted by the coaches.
