SCB signs deal with three Hong Kong banks Saigon Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SCB) and three Hong Kong banks on Monday signed a co-operation agreement on syndicated credit financing. Under the agreement, SCB, Hang Seng Bank Limited, Chong Hing Bank Limited and The Bank of East Asia Limited committed to support financial investment and ensure a stable financing source for Union Square Company Limited, which operates in the field of real estate. Vietnam’s tourism sector welcomed nearly 8 million international tourists in the first six months of this year, up 27.2 per cent year-on-year, and catered to nearly 43 million domestic tourists. Total revenue reached VND312 trillion ($13.4 billion), up 22.5 per cent over the same period of 2017. The sector targets welcoming 15-17 million international tourists this year, up 25 per cent compared with 2017, and catering to 80 million domestic tourists, an increase of 9 per cent compared to 2016. The Halong Bay management board has announced on its website that it is preparing a plan to adjust the entrance fee to Halong Bay. Accordingly, among the five tourist routes, only the fee for the third route -- from the wharf to the marine culture conservation center -- will remain unchanged at VND200,000 (US$8.7) per tourist. For each of the remaining routes---from the wharf to Van Canh Park, the caves and caverns, the marine leisure center and Gia Luan Harbor, the fee will go up by VND50,000 per visitor.
