The MoU was signed between the Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam, the National Agriculture Extension, and CARE, paving the way forward for the rollout of the Farming for Change – She Feeds the World project in Vietnam (SFtW Vietnam). The project aims to ensure small-scale farmers in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, particularly women and ethnic minorities, have more secure and resilient livelihoods for food, nutrition, and water security. The Central Highlands in Vietnam are a major agricultural hub, producing key food crops. However, the agricultural system in the region faces serious environmental, economic, and societal issues, including unsustainable agricultural practices and weak market linkage. Vietnam shares experience in increasing children’s access to education
In her speech at the May 17 event, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha introduced solutions that the Vietnamese Government has been implementing to increase children’s access to education, as well as to reduce the risk of school dropping out and child labor. The official said 94.4 percent of child population in Vietnam has gained access to education thanks to policies designed for the purpose implemented in parallel with those for social welfare and poverty reduction. Many models and solutions, including those supporting children at risk of labor exploitation to access vocational training, have been rolled out via Government- and international-funded projects, she added. The deputy minister also talked about Vietnam’s experience in ensuring education throughout the period of COVID-19 pandemic and in bringing children back to school after social distancing measures were lifted. Vietnam attends int’l workshop on Algeria’s revolution
Jointly organized by the Ministry of War Veterans and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Committee of Algerians abroad, the event gathered hundreds of delegates from the Algerian government, historical witnesses of the Algerian revolution of various nationalities, and foreign researchers. Vietnam was one of the first countries to recognize the provisional government of Algeria (September 26, 1958), four years before the North African country actually gained independence. Participants discussed topics related to human values, the charters of the Algerian revolution and its role in strengthening relations with countries around the world. The French corporation gets about five million applications for roughly 15,000 new positions each year. The vast number of applications took up a great deal of L’Oreal’s money and time for the personnel selection process. Things got easier when the corporation adopted a modest approach by applying AI to the recruitment process in an intern programme. A representative of L’Oreal said that 12,000 applicants with 80 spots were quickly processed by AI, saving 200 recruiting hours compared to the previous full human-powered review process. The event was attended by Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, and delegates from agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP. At the handover ceremony, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh, on behalf of his families, handed over a pair of brass candlesticks related to the revolutionary career of his brother, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces martyr Nguyen Kim Vang. On January 26, 1972, Nguyen Kim Vang was ambushed by the enemy while carrying out a mission with his comrades and died near a revolutionary base in Lien Tri village, Binh Kien commune, Tuy Hoa town (present Tuy Hoa city), Phu Yen province. PANO – Over the past years, the small house of former soldier Bui Dinh Thu in Chi Tien commune, Thanh Ba district, Phu Tho province, with thousands of war objects relating to the resistance wars has been the venue for war veterans and locals, especially young people. Especially, on the occasion of important events of the nation such as the liberation of the south and national reunification day (April 30 th ), the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7 th ), National Day (September 2 nd ), the founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army or the lunar New Year festival, Thu’s small “museum” welcomes visitors of different ages and the owner enthusiastically and proudly introduces guests to the origin, significance, and stories of each item.
