Rising costs cast doubt on wood companies growth prospects

(Photo truongthanh.com) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - As wood export turnover is rebounding with rising demand in the domestic market , the revenues of wood enterprises are expected to advance. However, skyrocketing prices of raw materials and logistics costs will weigh on these companies’ gross profit margin in 2022. The rule would mean that Phuong would lose $1,500 over 10 days of rubber tapping if he saved 10 per cent of his 150-ha plantation area for conservation. Besides state-owned companies like Tan Bien Rubber and Tay Ninh Rubber, there are 12 private firms competing to source rubber. Phuong was certain that he would not lose VND105 million ($4,520) per month during the tough market caused by rising production expenses, the shortage of rubber tappers and the … [Read more...] about Plantations dreaming of FSC status for rubber products
MoF proposes reductions for four types of taxes on petroleum products
The high petrol prices have hindered economic recovery. (Photo: SGGP) Thus, along with the solution to cut the environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil, and grease products to the floor level in the tax bracket until December 31, 2022, and the solution to reduce the MFN tax rate, the MoF has continued to put forward more tax cuts to help lower gasoline and oil prices. Up to now, the MoF has proposed to reduce four types of taxes on this essential product. According to the MoF, it is crucial to slash the MFN tax rate to 12 percent for gasoline to diversify petroleum supply to avoid being passive by depending on import sources from South Korea and the ASEAN only. Besides, people and businesses will directly benefit from tax reductions on gasoline and oil products, thereby contributing to directly reducing consumers’ expenses as well as indirect costs from other consumer products. Previously, because petrol and oil prices have continuously climbed and are currently … [Read more...] about MoF proposes reductions for four types of taxes on petroleum products
