When the sport was introduced at the 2003 SEA Games, Vietnam as the host swept 13 out of the 16 golds at stake, while in Laos 2009 and Indonesia 2011 took four and six golds, respectively. Besides Thailand and the Philippines, Indonesia is growing stronger in the sport with many talented athletes, whose stats are on par with Vietnam’s top finswimmers in some categories. SEA Games 31: Vietnam’s cyclists secure gold, silver in road competitions
The men’s and women’s road cycling races attracted the participation of 43 athletes from eight countries, namely Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Twenty-one cyclists took part in the men’s event with a distance of 44km. The gold medal went to Quang Van Cuong of Vietnam, the silver to Sirironnachai Sarawut of Thailand, and the bronze to Yeo Boon Kiak of Singapore. The women’s event saw the competition on a 29.6km distance by 19 cyclists from seven countries, excluding Cambodia. SEA Games 31: Thai players advance to women’s table tennis final

In her match, Suthasini won 4-0 against Ho Ying of Malaysia. Meanwhile, Orawan secured the last ticket to the final by defeating Zeng Jian of Singapore 4-3. SEA Games 31: Host Vietnam pocket new gold medals in individual blitz chess

Minh topped the event by surpassing another veteran Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem after two intense matches. This is Minh's first gold medal since he started the chess career. As a result, Liem secured the silver medal; and the bronze medals went to Tin Jingyao of Singapore and Megaranto Susanto of Indonesia.
