Co-launched by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), UN agencies, and the Australian Aid on July 5, the initiative was built on a 2020 campaign to raise public awareness and change individual and societal behaviour, helping prevent violence before it begins. Additional 913 new Covid-19 infections reported on Wednesday
The Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported an additional 913 Covid-19 infections, raising the country's total tally to over 10.75 million. Illustrative photo According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 42 out of 63 localities in the country. As of Wednesday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.75 million. On July 6, an additional 7,626 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.73 million. On Wednesday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded, the country's total fatalities stay at 43,089, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections. By July 5, Vietnam had injected more than 234 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including over 8.85 million given to children aged 5 to 11. Quang Hai to make Pau FC debut in friendly on July 8
Vietnamese star footballer Nguyen Quang Hai is likely to make his first appearance for new side Pau FC in a friendly with FC Des Landes on July 8 (local time). Quang Hai scores a goal during recent training sessions in France. Head coach Didier Tholot will test out his squad in this preseason match, and Quang Hai will be given the opportunity to play his first match in Pau FC's jersey. This game is among four friendlies scheduled by French club Pau FC ahead of Ligue 2’s 2022 - 2023 season. Pau FC will later play Toulouse FC, Angouleme Charente FC and Niortais FC on July 12, 15 and 23, respectively. Quang Hai, 25, has recently joined the French squad under a two-year contract. Phan Thiet restaurant inspected after charging $192 for cooking service despite advance agreement with customers
The market surveillance officers of Binh Thuan visited a restaurant in the south-central Vietnamese province’s tourist city of Phan Thiet on Wednesday morning to clarify a customer’s complaint about its hefty charge of VND4.5 million (US$192) for cooking service. The Hung Vuong restaurant in Phan Thiet City’s Phu Thuy Ward welcomed a group of 48 tourists and one tour guide around lunchtime on Sunday, the facility’s manager Nguyen Ngoc Phong said. Having ordered their meal in advance, the tourist group brought along 18 kilograms of raw seafood they had purchased outside upon their arrival. Although the restaurant rarely allowed customers to bring food outside into its premises, the two sides discussed and agreed on using the restaurant’s service to cook the raw seafood with a charge of VND250,000 ($10.7) per kilogram that day, according to Phong.
