GENEVA — Viet Nam praises Thailand for its record in implementing human rights at the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on Thailand at the 12th session of the working group of the Human Rights Council on Wednesday. Ambassador Vu Dung, Head of the Viet Nam Permanent Mission to the United Nations, World Trade Organisation and other international organisations in Geneva, said Viet Nam took note of the human rights-based approach applied by Thailand in the implementation of laws and development policies. He said achievements by Thailand in social-economic development, protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms, especially in the fields of poverty eradication, education, healthcare and gender equality amply testified to this.
