Troops at the border pentagon

The event was part of the activities to mark the 47th founding anniversary of the municipal border guard command (May 7, 1975 -2022) and welcome Youth Union congresses at all levels, towards the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2022-2027 tenure. The two-day program attracted the participation of more than 500 youths from local Youth Union organizations and schools and troops from the municipal border guard command, the Ho Chi Minh City Command, Ho Chi Minh City’s Public Security Department, Division 5 of Military Region 7, and Division 9 of Army Corps 4, among others. The talks were co-chaired by Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai and General Sao Sokha, the Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army Gendarmerie. The recipient was Lu Thi Sien in the border village of Phieng Khang of Phieng Pan commune. Sien and her husband have three children. Their families depend on farming produce, while Sien is always in poor health condition. Although their house was downgraded, they could not afford to repair or re-build it. Learning Sien’s difficulties, Phieng Pan Border Post and the Women’s Union Organization of the Son La provincial Border Guard Command called on the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province to fund the house construction. Sien’s house was built on an area of 50sq.m at total cost of VND 50 million, of which the Women’s Union Organization of the Son La provincial Border Guard Command donated VND 20 million. During the program, women’s union of Ngu Phung commune were equipped with knowledge on the Party’s guidelines and State’s laws and policies relating to defense and security work in the border areas and sea and islands. Meanwhile, they also got familiar with the basic contents of the Laws on Vietnam Border Guard, Marriage and Family, Gender Equality, Prevention of and Combat against Human Trafficking, among others. Since early this year, the Border Post of Ha Tien International Border Gate performed their duties in a very difficult condition, especially under the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, thanks to the comprehensive leadership of the party committees and chains-of-command at all levels, the post’s troops have effectively carried out party and political work plans and completed both routine and unscheduled tasks.
