Vietnam protests China’s bomber deployment to Paracel islands
The Vietnamese foreign ministry said deploying weapons and fighter jets to the Paracels not only violates Vietnam’s sovereignty but also complicates the situation in the East Sea. Vietnam has voiced objection to China deploying one of its modern bombers to Hoang Sa (Paracel) islands, saying that the act has violated the former’s sovereignty and jeopardized stability in the South China Sea. Quang Hai to make Pau FC debut in friendly on July 8
Vietnamese star footballer Nguyen Quang Hai is likely to make his first appearance for new side Pau FC in a friendly with FC Des Landes on July 8 (local time). Quang Hai scores a goal during recent training sessions in France. Head coach Didier Tholot will test out his squad in this preseason match, and Quang Hai will be given the opportunity to play his first match in Pau FC's jersey. This game is among four friendlies scheduled by French club Pau FC ahead of Ligue 2’s 2022 - 2023 season. Pau FC will later play Toulouse FC, Angouleme Charente FC and Niortais FC on July 12, 15 and 23, respectively. Quang Hai, 25, has recently joined the French squad under a two-year contract. Vietnam eliminated from 2018 AFC U-19 Championship after Australia defeat
Vietnam had to bid early farewell to the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship after only two games as they lost 1-2 to Australia during the second group-stage game in Indonesia on Monday afternoon. Considered the underdogs, the Vietnamese let their rivals, who have better physique and technical skills, easily control the match right from the start. In the 36th minute, Angus Thurgate received the ball from a free kick and, thanks to the negligence of the Vietnamese defense wall, managed to comfortably nutmeg goalie Y Eli Nie, opening the scoring for Australia. After conceding the first goal, Vietnam tried to intensify their attacks but failed to cause much difficulty for the Australian defense as their ball phases were slow and thus lacked the surprise element from both wings. Army Corps 4 opens sport festival 2022
During the five-day event, more than 1,000 athletes from 15 sport delegations from the corps’ regiments, brigades, divisions, schools, and agencies will compete in 20 events of 11 sport games. These competitions include strong soldiers, obstacle running course, 3,000 meters armed obstacle running course, swimming, sniper, unarmed combat martial arts, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, and tennis. Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Le Van Huong, Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff of Army Corps 4 stressed the sport festival aims to review the training capabilities and quality, fitness practice and sport activities of the corps’ affiliates.
