Man prosecuted for sending illegal workers to China The People's Procuracy of the Central Highland Dak Nong Province yesterday prosecuted and arrested a suspect for alleged involvement in sending 24 people to work overseas illegally. The initial police investigation showed that the 20-year-old suspect Nguyen Xuan Manh, of Dak Nong Province's K'Rong No District, and his cousin returned to Viet Nam from China to look for people who wanted to work in that country. The two men reportedly said they enticed 24 people to China for work. These workers were required to pay VND5 million (US$231,600) each. The police caught Manh in mid-March, when he and eight others travelled to the northern Thai Nguyen Province to meet his cousin and then, head to China. Vietnam's largest gold bandana on display in Hue Vietnam's largest gold bandana crafted by Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company was displayed for the public in Hue city on November 30. The gold bandana designed like the bandana worn by women in South Vietnam, is 130cm in length and 27cm in width. It was crafted in 3,000 parts with 2,880 gold pieces. The surface of each gold piece is carved with beautiful patterns such as shapes of birds and drums. Earlier, the gold bandana was recognized as Vietnam's largest gold bandana by Vietnam Records Book Center. Photo exhibition on Vietnamese women opens in Paris The photo collections were taken by two French friends named Philippe Chaplain, President of France's National Heritage Federation and photographer Daniel Frydman, who spent many years and have great sentiments twowards Vietnam. Around 50 photos and postcards were taken in the early 20th century recording evocative images of Vietnamese women in two distinct historical eras. In separate speeches two French authors spoke of their travels around Vietnam, describing the country as a beautiful land with hospitable people, inspiring them to return several times to organise photo exhibitions and publish books on Vietnam. Collector Philippe Chaplain said that the old photographs are hugely significant in reflecting the fascinating history and traditions of Vietnam. National Assembly deputies will quiz Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and four ministers this morning. Faces with blissful smiles, joyful laughs and a warm, nice atmosphere are what I could experience during 2 days of the summer camp for poor but studious teenagers organized by Committee for Population, Family and Teenagers at Phuoc Hai Seaside in Long Dat District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province a few days ago. This is an annual activity aiming at encouraging teenagers who managed to study well despites their difficult lives. 211 poor but studious teenagers from villages, districts and Bien Hoa city of Dong Nai Province arrived at the camp location at about 9 AM. On getting off the bus, the teenagers streamed to the beach. Most of them led difficult lives so this was the first time they had ever joined a summer camp, watched and played at the seaside.
