The tragic traffic accident happened at around 6:15am of May 2 when a bus from Da Lat city to Ho Chi Minh City directly collided with a truck at the section through Lien Nghia Town of Duc Trong District. The Vietnam Administration of Medical Services (VAMS) under the Ministry of Health sent an urgent official dispatch in the evening of May 2 to the Department of Health of Lam Dong Province about the treatment of victims of the accident. Accordingly, VAMS praised the Lam Dong Department of Health for its timely guidance to the Lam Dong General Hospital in the task of promptly providing emergency aid to victims. Traffic accident fatalities drop during four-day holiday
Two motorbike riders were severely injured in a traffic collision with a tire-exploded car when driving through Tan Hoa Canal, HCM City on May 1 (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The numbers of traffic accidents and fatalities during the four-day holiday from April 28-May 1 decreased remarkably from the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Public Security. The ministry’s office reported that 79 were killed and another 79 injured in 113 traffic accidents nationwide in the period, year-on-year decreases of 19 deaths (19.4 percent), and 12 accidents (9.6 percent). During the first four months of this year, the country saw more than 6,000 traffic accidents, with over 2,700 fatalities and over 4,600 injured, a drop of 349 cases, seven fatalities and 483 injured compared with the same period last year. The numbers of deaths and injured victims of traffic accidents dropped by 0.25 percent and 9.44 percent respectively, during the period from mid-December 2017 to mid-April 2018. The period saw more than 6,000 accidents, a decline of 5.48 percent. From mid-March to mid-April 2018, nearly 1,350 accidents claimed 639 lives and injured more than 1,000 people, representing a decrease of 6.17 percent and 21.42 percent. Vietnam’s traffic accident cases down in first quarter

Compared to the same period last year, traffic accident numbers fell by 2.89 percent but fatalities rose 1.66 percent. Among 27 localities posting more fatalities, 14 saw a rise of more than 40 percent while Ca Mau, Tay Ninh and Cao Bang provinces registered 150 percent or more extra deaths.
