Russian experts have joined the preservation of President Ho Chi Minh’s body for over 50 years since he passed away in 1969. Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today met a delegation of Russian scientists to whom he extended thanks for their support in keeping the embalmed body of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh unharmed. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Minh Ngan underpinned the importance of the national marine spatial master plan, saying its objectives are to properly delineate and zone off sea spaces for different sectors based on the incorporation of planning of sea-based industries; and to orient the use of sea spaces and address overlaps and conflicts in exploiting marine spaces. Drafting the master plan is a challenging and complex task, given that it has never been done before in Vietnam, Ngan noted, adding that utilizing existing data and information, it will zone off the marine spaces based on natural ecosystems to provide a connecting space for socio-economic development, enhance land-to-sea connectivity and protect national security-defence and international cooperation. Police in the northern province of Ha Nam said Sunday that a suspect has been summoned in the case, but provided no further information as they were still "verifying the incident." At around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, the National Children's Hospital in Hanoi received a young patient transferred from a Ha Nam hospital with respiratory failure, hypothermia and injuries in the head, face and neck. Doctors said the boy had suffered from physical injuries, hemorrhage and inflammation on the head, face, neck and tongue, making it difficult for him to eat. The boy's health has stabilized since. "The patient's family said he was found trapped inside a carton box kept in a freezer. At the time he was found, the boy was delirious," a doctor said. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, 34 and her friends had their tickets from Singapore to Jeju Island canceled on August 9 because they did not have visas. The island, however, has a visa exemption policy for tourists. Hien, from Hanoi, said she'd already visited Jeju back in 2018 under the visa exemption policy and wasn't aware that it had changed when she booked the tickets for her and her friends to fly there from Singapore. "When we got to the Changi Airport for check-in procedures, an employee told us to discuss the issue with the airline. A representative of Scoot Airlines said Vietnamese, Thai, Mongolians and people from certain other countries would no longer be able to enter Jeju Island under the visa exemption policy. The airline said it would refund our tickets," Hien said. Budget eateries offering each meal at a mere VND1,000 (US$0.04), VND5,000 ($21), or for free in Ho Chi Minh City are warming the hearts of low-income workers and disadvantaged people amid surging goods prices. Situated at 317 Trung My Tay 13 Street in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, the eatery run by Tran Thi Dung and her husband serves offal porridge for disabled and elderly people and lottery ticket vendors. Tran Thi Dung recounted that three years ago, her husband was severely injured in a traffic accident so she took him to their hometown for care and treatment. When he was in good health again, they returned to the city to do business. The event was attended by the PAN’s Managing Editor Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Long and Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5 (MR5) Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Hung, together with representatives of the PAN, and 51 trainees who are political officers and PAN’s collaborators in military units in the Central and Central Highlands region. Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Long recalled heroic traditions of the PAN, while affirming the importance of the course which helps raising the quantity and quality of reporters in the military. This is an occasion for trainees to raise their journalism knowledge and competence.
