Two Vietnamese tourism clips reach one million views on YouTube

A clip titled “Viet Nam – Dat nuoc, con nguoi”, known as “Vietnam – The Country and People” in English, features the unique terraced fields found in the northwestern region, the spectacular scenery of Son Doong cave, along with peaceful moments in the Mekong Delta region, and the hospitality of local people nationwide.

After being uploaded just a month ago, the clip has since gone on to reach over one million views on YouTube.

Another clip with the theme of “Viet Nam – Diem den Van hoa va Am thuc”, also known as “Vietnam – Destination of Culture and Cuisine Destination”, debuted to mark the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet.

Images showcasing calligraphers, apricot trees, peach flowers, and Banh Chung, square glutinous rice cake, shows a message of the need to preserve Vietnamese traditional culture among different generations.

The clip has also received over one million views on YouTube.

The two video clips have been launched by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in partnership with Google and Vinpearl with the aim of promoting the country as both a safe and attractive destination.

Vietnam records six imported COVID-19 cases on March 5 afternoon

The new infections include five Vietnamese nationals and one Chinese expert.

Now there are 49,565 people who came in close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine nationwide, including 1,290 in hospitals, 14,199 in other quarantine sites, and 34,076 at home.

Among the patients undergoing treatment, 65 have tested negative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice, and 137 thrice.

The Treatment Sub-committee said that 1,920 patients have been declared to be clear of the coronavirus so far.

In a bid to live safely with the pandemic, people should strictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration).

Singapore, US reaffirm bilateral defence ties

Singapore (VNA) – Singaporean Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen has held phone talks with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, during which they reaffirmed strong bilateral defence ties between the two countries and their desire to further deepen the relations.

In his Facebook post on March 3, Ng Eng Hen said that during their phone talks, the two sides discussed security challenges in the region, including the persistent threat of terrorism.

The minister said that he looks forward to working closely with Austin to ensure that the region continues to enjoy stability, peace and progress.

The phone talks was a meeting of minds, shared perspectives and values on the foundations of stability and progress – the rule of law, peaceful settlement of disputes, multilateral cooperation and mutual benefits, according to the Singaporean minister.

Meanwhile, in a statement on March 4, the US Department of Defence said the two ministers reaffirmed their mutual commitment to the US-Singapore bilateral defence relationship.

Austin also expressed appreciation for the regional access that Singapore provides to US forces, and both leaders expressed interest in further collaboration on counterterrorism./.
