ThaiBev spin-off pinpoints dedicated beer group growth, Source: ThaiBev International Beverage Holdings Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of ThaiBev Group which holds all of the issued ordinary shares of BeerCo, will conduct a public offering of up to approximately 20 per cent of the total number of issued ordinary shares of BeerCo. Controlled by tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, ThaiBev is one of Southeast Asia’s largest drinks makers. It initially paused the plan to go public last year due to the pandemic. BeerCo is a company incorporated in Singapore as an investment holding company. Four cyclists, Ahmad Syazrin Awang Ilah, Zulfikri Zulkifli, Nur Assyira Zainal Abidin and Natahsya Soon, crossed the finish line at a time of 1:23:14. This is the best result ever recorded by Malaysian cyclists. They won a silver medal at the SEA Games in 2011. Việt Nam ranked second with a time of 1:23.48, and Thailand came third in 1:24:54. Speaking with Bernama (the Malaysian National News Agency), team manager Firdaus Arshad said the result was an unexpected achievement for Malaysian bikers because the team has been rated as low compared to other competitors. Vietnam wraps up 31st SEA Games with a record 205 gold medals
Vietnam won 24 gold medals on Sunday, including one in the much-anticipated men’s football competition, finishing their 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games run at the top of the medal table with 205 golds, breaking the previous gold medal record set by Indonesia in 1997. Thailand are second on the medal table with 92 golds, while Indonesia ranked third with 69, according the event’s official website. Vietnam’s men’s football team defended their gold medal with a 1-0 victory over Thailand on Sunday night. Indonesia claimed the men’s football bronze medal following a triumph over Malaysia in a penalty shootout. Muay and diving each won Vietnam five gold medals earlier the same day. At the 31st SEA Games, the men's football teams in Group B - Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia – stayed at the Nam Cuong hotel in Nam Dinh Province, just two km from the Thien Truong Stadium. The hotel's kitchen had to serve the five teams with special nutritional requirements keeping in mind their religious faiths and preferences. Nguyen Van Chien, the hotel's manager, said that the three main meals for the teams were served as a buffet of 60-70 dishes. For example, the Indonesian team wanted masala fried eggs, which the team leader said suited the nutritional needs of the players. Some of the Indonesian players were Muslims who don’t eat pork, so their meals had to be adjusted accordingly. For the Thai team, the hotel’s chefs served stir-fried noodles with special spices. Before the meal, the Thai team sent a player to the kitchen to provide guidance and instructions.
