Thailand plans to upgrade airports nationwide

(Photo: Post Today) – The Department of Airports (DoA) of Thailand is planning to spend 5.8 billion baht (191 million USD) upgrading airports across the country next year. DoA Acting Director-General Thawi Kesi-samang said the huge investment in key regional airports is “urgent mission”. The department plans to conduct bids for the projects from early next year, he added. Among them are the 1.3-billion-baht construction of taxiways at Krabi airport, 800-million-baht and and 775-million-baht plans to build new terminals at Narathiwat and Buri Ram airports respectively and projects to expand airport bays (500 million baht) and an international terminal (200 million baht) at Surat Thani airport. Vietnamese flight delayed after S Korean needs urgent medical care
During takeoff, the crew of the VN957 flight from Hanoi to Myanmar last Friday found a South Korean man, whose name has yet to be revealed, convulsing, the Ministry of Transport said Tuesday citing a source from the national flag carrier. Immediately, the flight crew informed the incident to the airport's ground service staff for medical assistance and asked the captain to return to Noi Bai International Airport. The passenger was then rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment. The flight departed 49 minutes late. Vietnam will compete for their first-ever Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medal in the men’s football final against Indonesia in the Philippines on Tuesday evening. The much-anticipated game will take place at Rizal Memorial Stadium in the Filipino capital of Manila, and will be aired in Vietnam on VTV6 Channel at 7:00 pm. In Ho Chi Minh City, ten gigantic screens have been set up on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1 for the public to enjoy the game free of charge.
