With a total investment capital of VND504 billion, the steel N-shape bridge is one of the six major traffic projects aimed at easing traffic congestion at the Tan Son Nhat Airport area. The bridge has three arms, with a 367m arm connecting Hoang Minh Giam and Nguyen Thai Son streets, the other 367 section arm turning north from Hoang Minh Giam street to Nguyen Kiem street, and the final 367m turning south from Nguyen Thai Son street into Nguyen Kiem. The construction of the flyover would help clear gridlock on the routes to Tan Son Nhat airport. The Tan Son Nhat Customs Bureau has launched a programme to welcome passengers, especially overseas Vietnamese coming home at the start of the Year of the Pig. It has introduced an app which can help passengers find information about customs procedures for their luggage and the estimated duty on goods they bring in. According to the bureau, the airport will serve an average of 134,200 passengers a day during the month. The golf course in Tan Son Nhat Airport will be closed for airport expansion according to the latest golf course planning by the Department of Planning and Architecture. Tan Son Nhat Airport golf course to shut According to Resolution 795 about golf course development plan to 2020, HCM City will adjust five golf course plans including the golf course and services at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Two golf courses will be adjusted and shutdown. The 160-hectare golf course at Tan Son Nhat Airport with hotel and entertainment complex will be replaced with hangars, cargo terminal and maintenance and repair areas. The golf course at District 2 will be converted into an urban area while three other golf courses will be narrowed down. If the proposal of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to build the third terminal for Tan Son Nhat International Airport is approved, the construction of the airport will be started in the third quarter of 2020. ACV awaits the prime minister's approval for the third terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport ACV has submitted a document to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) proposing the prime minister to approve the investment planning for Tan Son Nhat’s third terminal. Accordingly, the third terminal, which covers an area of 100,000 square metres, will handle 20 million passengers per year. The project will have a total investment capital of VND11.65 trillion ($506.5 million), invested by ACV and will be recouped within 23 years.
