Hanoi (VNA) – Russia is set to resume flights to Vietnam, India, Finland, and Qatar on January 27 with several flights per week, the Russian anti-coronavirus crisis center said on January 16. The centre noted that after discussing and taking into consideration the epidemiological situation in certain countries, it decided to resume international flights on the basis of the reciprocity principle, starting on January 27, with Vietnam (Moscow-Hanoi, twice a week), India (Moscow-New Delhi, twice a week), Finland (Moscow-Helsinki, twice a week, as well as St. Petersburg-Helsinki, twice a week), and Qatar (Moscow-Doha, twice a week.). It was reported that the decision was made based on announced criteria, including no more than 40 new cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 of the population within 14 days. India hails ‘life saving’ Covid-19 vaccine rollout
Frontline workers such as hospital staff, people over 50 and those deemed to be at high risk due to pre-existing medical conditions are on the shortlist to receive the vaccines. "We have got encouraging and satisfactory feedback results on the first day," Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told his state counterparts on Saturday. "This vaccine will indeed be a 'Sanjeevani' (life saver)" in the fight against the virus, he added. Former deputy minister summoned for Vu Huy Hoang’s trial
Hanoi (VNA) – A former deputy minister and 18 others have been summoned for their alleged connection with the State property misuse and mismanagement case of ex-Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang at the Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage JSC (Sabeco). Former Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Nam Hai, a Sabeco representative and 17 others will have to be present as people with related interests and obligations at the first-instance trial of the case on January 18. The trial was initially scheduled to start on January 7 but then postponed due to the absence of three defendants and many persons allegedly involving in the case. According to the indictment from the Supreme People’s Procuracy, Sabeco, which is under the MoIT’s management, was given 6,080 sq.m of land in Ben Nghe ward of HCM City’s District 1 for non-agricultural production and business purposes.
