Visitors to Vietnam no longer required Covid-19 testing

The latest decision is expected to boost the traveling of visitors to Vietnam in the context that the country's Covid-19 infections have dropped to a 10-month low. Vietnam has removed the pre-entry Covid-19 testing requirements for all arrivals, starting today [May 15], according to a recent government’s instruction. It comes as the numbers of Covid-19 infections and deaths drop both in Vietnam and around the world. Vietnam has reported no Covid-19 related deaths over the past week while infections fell to a 10-month low of around 1,800 cases per day. In an official document issued this weekend, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cited a World Health Organization (WHO)’s report that the pandemic has tended to subside worldwide, shown by the reducing number of new contractions and fatalities, and that the vaccines are still effective against variants of the novel coronavirus. PM visits hotel where President Ho Chi Minh used to work in Boston

Massachusetts is one of the destinations in President Ho Chi Minh's journey to seek a way for national liberation, where he studied history and learned about the struggle for national independence, freedom and reunification of the American people. A number of mementos in the kitchen where he worked more than 100 years ago are still kept by the hotel. Old documents with many pictures and articles about the daily life of Boston people in the previous period which was hung at the hotel, with words saying that Ho Chi Minh used to work as pastry chef of Parker from 1911 to 1913. In the guestbook, PM Chinh expressed his emotion when visiting the Omni Parker House Hotel where great President Ho Chi Minh, the hero of national liberation and the world's cultural celebrity once worked. PM meets Vietnamese embassy officials, community in U.S.

The PM hailed the efforts by the embassy in implementing the external policies of the Party and State, building and promoting the image of the nation and people of Vietnam to U.S. friends, and contributing to making the Vietnam-U.S. ties more practical and effective, including the thorough preparations for the PM’s trip to the U.S. to attend the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit and make a visit to the U.S. and the U.N.
