The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of VND260,000 (US$11.20) in Region 1, and VND240,000, VND210,000, and VND180,000 in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from VND15,600 to VND22,500, which also depends on the region. The geographical classification is determined based on the employer’s place of operation. Region 1 covers Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City's urban areas; Region 2 encompasses Hanoi and HCMC's rural areas, along with major urban areas in the country like Can Tho, Da Nang and Hai Phong; Region 3 covers provincial cities and the districts of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces; and Region 4 comprises the rest of the country. UKVFTA brings about positive outcomes for both sides: official

Illustrative photo (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), which took effect in early 2021, has so far brought about positive outcomes for both countries, Deputy Director General Ngo Chung Khanh of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Multilateral Trade Policy Department has affirmed. At a virtual conference on promoting firms’ UKVFTA -induced advantages in Hanoi on June 29, Khanh noted the exports from Vietnam to the UK have grown by 17% and from the UK to Vietnam, by 23%. Phan Thi Thanh Xuan, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association ( LEFASO ), said the pact has helped Vietnam’s footwear shipments to the UK bounce back from a serious reduction due to Brexit. Vietnam transport ministry requires rectification following thousands of flight delays

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has requested that airlines improve their punctuality after more than 5,600 flights were delayed in June. Vietnamese airlines operated 30,808 flights between May 19 and June 18, a jump of 528.7 percent and 18 percent compared to the same period in 2021 and last month, respectively, according to statistics of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). During this period, the overall punctuality of the entire industry was 81.8 percent, with only 25,206 flights taking off on time, down 15.9 percentage points and 9.4 percentage percentage points compared to the same period last year and in May, respectively. As many as 5,602 flights were delayed, about 18.2 percent, an increase of 15.9 percentage points and 9.4 percentage points year on year and from last month’s figure, respectively. Vietnam, UK seek closer relations

Vietnam-UK target US$10-billion trade turnover by 2023

UK trade minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan said the country wants to be a part of Vietnam’s development story in the 21st century, and fostering bilateral trade relations is among its priorities.
