The delegation included Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Binh Phuoc provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan. Building solidarity based on a foundation of common interests is central to the survival of ASEAN, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said in a press interview on Tuesday. The statement comes just one week before the socio-economic bloc celebrates its 50th anniversary. ASEAN, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, was founded on August 8, 1967 when foreign ministers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand gathered in Bangkok to sign the ASEAN Declaration. The association has since expanded to include Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia, raising its membership count to ten countries. Microplastics can go directly into the lungs during daily activities. A group of biologists and researchers from the University of Science and Education under Đà Nẵng University has reported their independent survey and research on microplastic pollution in the central hub, the first of its kind in central Việt Nam. Common types of microplastics in the air that had been collected in a four-month survey in six districts of Đà Nẵng City between 2021-22 were only observed by microscope with sizes from 850 to 900 micrometres. He was speaking during a meeting with the US business community in Washington DC on May 12 (US time), as part of the Vietnamese leader’s trip to the US.
