Vietnam’s African swine fever vaccine to be widely used by late 2022
The vaccination is expected to be carried out in Vietnam from July to the end of this year. The made-in-Vietnam African swine fever vaccine will be likely used on a large scale by the end of 2022, according to Nguyen Van Long, acting director of the Department of Animal Health under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Long said that the vaccine was branded NAVET-ASFVAC and is produced by NAVETCO National Veterinary Joint Stock Company. Over 50 farms in ten provinces and cities nationwide have been selected to administer 600,000 doses of vaccine against African swine fever. A poor man and his son who are both suffering from health problems have just received VND62 million (USD2,696) from the public after their story was published on Dantri/Dtinews. Representatives from Dantri/Dtinews visited Hoang and his son and gave the donations on June 29. Hoang Xuan Ha, 48, suffers from various diseases including diabetes, heart problems and a stroke. He weighs only 28 kilos. His nine-year-old son also weighs only 20 kilos due to malnutrition. Vietnam transport ministry requires rectification following thousands of flight delays
The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has requested that airlines improve their punctuality after more than 5,600 flights were delayed in June. Vietnamese airlines operated 30,808 flights between May 19 and June 18, a jump of 528.7 percent and 18 percent compared to the same period in 2021 and last month, respectively, according to statistics of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). During this period, the overall punctuality of the entire industry was 81.8 percent, with only 25,206 flights taking off on time, down 15.9 percentage points and 9.4 percentage percentage points compared to the same period last year and in May, respectively. As many as 5,602 flights were delayed, about 18.2 percent, an increase of 15.9 percentage points and 9.4 percentage points year on year and from last month’s figure, respectively. Accordingly, a new decree, coded 38/2022/ND-CP, on raising the regional minimum wage for labourers will come into effect on July 1. The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of 260,000 VND (11.20 USD) in Region 1, and 240,000 VND, 210,000 VND, and 180,000 VND in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from 15,600 to 22,500 VND, which also depends on the region.
