According to the municipal People’s Committee, the disbursement of public capital of a number of projects has lagged behind schedule, with some stagnant projects in the 2016-2020 period cancelled. Meanwhile, the demand for middle-term public investment remains huge. In March, the committee asked local departments, districts and investors to make updates and adjustments to the city's plan. Along with requesting local authorities to apply measures to speed up the progress of projects from all stages, municipal authorities have asked for the allocation of enough capital for underway projects, the adjustments of stagnant projects and the careful consideration of new projects to match the city’s capacity in resource balancing. One of the solutions is to modernise inventory management while engaging in negotiations with major petrol distributors to ensure supply to meet social demand for petrol. At the same time, the group has taken steps to cut costs in all production and business activities through several projects on centralized fleet management, asset management and customer relationship management. Sub-project approved for upgrading Nha Trang – Saigon railway section

(Photo: SGGP) The 411-km route will be implemented from 2022 – 2025, running through the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City. The sub-project aims to ensure traffic safety, improve the quality of railway infrastructure and transport capacity of both passengers and goods, thus effectively exploiting the existing infrastructure along the Nha Trang – Saigon route. The budget for this will be sourced from the State budget under the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period. About VND80 billion will be allocated in 2022; and VND350 billion, VND400 billion and VND269 billion in 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively. Service fee for money transfer to ETC accounts should be exempted, reduced
Employees of an ETC service provider is helping a vehicle driver to deposit money into his traffic account. Nguyen Van H from District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City informed that when transferring VND200,000 (US$8.5) from Citibank to ePass app to pay toll at collection booths, he is charged a service fee of VND6,000 ($0.26). Similarly, L.N.N. from District 12 is charged VND10,000 ($0.43) when transferring VND1 million ($42.7) from Agribank to VETC app for toll payment. A money transfer of VND200,000 ($8.5) from the e-wallet Momo also costs a fee of VND3,000 ($0.13). She annoyingly said that this fee, despite being a tiny sum, is still higher than the fee to transfer money between banks, which is normally free of only VND1,000 ($0.04). North-Central-South tourism connectivity enhanced
At the conference In November 2020, leaders of the People’s Committees of seven localities signed an agreement on tourism development cooperation. The program will focus on state management of the tourism industry, the development of tourism human resources and tourist products, and tourism promotion. According to a report, seven cities and provinces received a total number of visitors of 17.7 million and earned VND63, 000 billion (US$2.7 billion) in tourism revenue in 2021. In the first six months of this year, the business outcome of tourism activities saw positive signs thanks to tourism reopening policies. The total number of tourists was estimated at around 32.9 million, including one million international visitors while the revenue from tourism was VND87, 900 (US$3.76 billion).
