Hanoi (VNA) – A Spanish official affirmed that the European country attaches importance to comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam while addressing a ceremony held in Madrid by the Vietnamese Embassy on October 3. The event celebrated the 77th National Day of Vietnam (September 2) and the 45th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties. In his remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Xuan Hai emphasised the significance of the date September 2, 1945, that marked the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), along with brilliant milestones over the last 77 years, especially the country’s outstanding achievements in reform, international integration, and national development since 1986. Ltd Marukawa stated that many companies are now facing a serious shortage of human resources, particularly engineers in the IT/AI field and designing, or those who can fluently use 3D designing software. These laborers are the key to increase the competitiveness of Panasonic and of Vietnam in general in the future. However, businesses alone cannot decrease this shortage. Four years ago, 30-year-old Ly Mi Vang traveled 2,000 km from the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang to the southern industrial hub of Binh Duong, looking for a job. Not educated, he could only get manual work. His firm, which manufactures sofas, has frequent overtime work, allowing him to earn over VND9 million ($377.12) a month. He sent VND5 million every month to his family back home. When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, Vang lost his job. He and several others from his hometown managed to catch buses to return home before travel restrictions were imposed. Vang has received no financial support from the government. "I was very scared. I thought I would stay home since, but there's no job available in my hometown," he said.
