At his meeting with British Cabinet Minister and President for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) Alok Sharma, Khai said that Vietnam has been implementing many overall and comprehensive measures in the field of energy transition and growth model transformation towards a green and circular direction to realize commitments made at COP26. The official underlined that ensuring energy security for growth and reducing emissions at the same time is a very complicated problem that requires the support of the international community in terms of resources, technology, and governance capacity. Mother gets death certificate for living toddler
Nguyen The Dung, 41, who lives in Kon Tum Province, said Tuesday that he found his son days after his ex-wife Phuong showed him their son's death certificate. "He's still healthy, just a little shy. In the near future, I will request the court to change our custody arrangements," he said. Dung married Phuong in 2018. Their son was only a couple months old when they got divorced. Phuong got custody of their son. In 2019, Phuong said she couldn't "raise him", so Dung brought his son back with him. Late April this year, Dung brought his son to Dak Lak for some treatment and asked his maternal grandmother (Phuong's mother), who lives nearby, to take care of the boy for a few months so he could return to Kon Tum for work. However, earlier this month, when Dung tried to video call his ex-wife to see his son but failed, he went to see him in person. THACO launches Mercedes-Benz bus assembly operation in Vietnam
THACO Auto, owned by billionaire Tran Ba Duong, has launched a partnership with Daimler Bus which will allow it to assemble Mercedes-Benz-branded buses for the Vietnamese market and eventually begin exporting these vehicles to nearby countries. THACO organized a ceremony on May 21 to announce its strategic partnership with Daimler Bus and launch its Mercedes-Benz bus assembly plant in Chu Lai, Quang Nam Province. The company aims to expand its reach and diversify its products to meet the needs of both local and international markets. The THACO-assembled Mercedes-Benz buses include 47-seater, 24-seater VIP buses, 24-bed sleeper buses, and 22-bed VIP sleeper buses. They are all available at truck and bus showrooms nationwide. Tedros re-elected as head of World Health Organization
The World Health Organization's (WHO) members re-elected Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as Director General by a strong majority for another five years, the president of the World Health Assembly said on Tuesday. The vote by secret ballot, announced by Ahmed Robleh Abdilleh from Djibouti at a major annual meeting, was seen as a formality since Tedros was the only candidate running. Ministers and delegates took turns to shake hands and hug Tedros, a former health minister from Ethiopia, who has steered the UN agency through a turbulent period dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The president had to use a gavel several times to interrupt the applause.
