The number of South Korean tourists to Vietnam has been on the rise in the past two years thanks to more convenient flights. South Korean visitors in Danang Vietnam welcomed 2.4 million tourists from South Korea last year, a 56.4% increase on 2016 according to the General Statistics Office. About 5.5 million international tourists came to Vietnam in the first four months of 2018, including 1.17 million South Koreans, a 67% increase on last year. South Koreans are second behind China in terms of tourist numbers and the central region is their favourite destination. Statistics from the Danang Department of Tourism show that the city welcomed 1.3 million South Korean tourists last year, double the previous year. A South Korean tourist was found safe and "in good spirits" six days after falling into a deep ravine while taking photos from a mountaintop in northeastern Australia, officials said. Joohee Han. Han disappeared on Jun 1 after telling friends she was going to climb Mount Tyson, a peak in bushland south of Cairns in northern Queensland state, police said.
