Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc The program pays the ways for Japan to increase manpower import from foreign countries, including Viet Nam. Phuc said the Government of Viet Nam stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Japan in this area for the benefits of the two countries. He called on Japanese side to step up information exchange and supervision of organizations responsible for sending and receiving laborers to ensure their legitimate rights and interests in Japan and crack down on possible abuses by workers. The two countries aim to sign an accord soon on accepting Vietnamese workers through the program, which launched in April, opening the door to workers in 14 industries faced with acute labor shortages. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Social workers in hospitals play an important role in connecting patients with hospital staff but the development of social work at health facilities still faces many challenges, according to an official from the health ministry. Guiding new patients on the "ins and outs" of health procedures, supplying information on hospital services, giving them psychological support and organising charitable work were some of the many tasks performed by social workers. In 2010, the Prime Minister approved a project to develop social working as a career for the next 10 years (from 2011-2020), providing an important legal framework for the development of social work in Việt Nam. At the meeting on social work orientation in schools held by the Department, the Department’s idea politic ward yesterday announced a survey carried out from December 20, 2018 to January 10, 2019. The training course will be for teachers, medical workers and teachers for providing counselling. Learners will be given certificates after finishing the training courses. The survey done by the ward in 150 educational facilities in HCMC from kindergartens to colleges about some problems students facing in academic performance, revealed 7.8 percent students used to be dropouts whereas 21.1 percent of students are at risk of dropping out and 31 percent of students were suffering stress. Additionally, according to the survey, up to 53.8 percent of students have no learning motivation. Worse, 30 percent of students were abused while using social network while 24.6 percent of them were bullied and 20.8 percent are victims of spiritual abuse including insults and stigmatization.
