The Vietnamese Women's Museum has coordinated with Singapore's StampMuseum to open an exhibition in Hanoi on October 18th to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations. Entitled "Exploit Singapore - Colours of heritage", the exhibition provides diverse information about Singaporean history and culture, traditional handicrafts, festivals and famous local dishes through interactive displays and images of post stamps. In addition, the museum also held interesting activities for children and families to experience, such as colouring stamps, making small bungar manggar - a Malaysian traditional decoration, and trying the traditional clothes of Chinese, Malaysian, Indian and Singaporean people. HA NOI - An artwork by the late Vietnamese painter Bui Xuan Phai is to go up for auction in Singapore on July 28. The drawing entitled Nong Thon (Countryside) is expected to bring bids of US$41,000-$54,000. Paintings by four other artists, Le Pho, Vu Cao Dam, Hong Viet Dung and Pham Luan, will also be on offer at the Traditional, Modern and Contemporary Art Auction in Singapore. One of Viet Nam's best-known artists, Phai (1920-1987) was born and lived all his life in Ha Noi. He was a graduate of Indochina Fine Arts College (1941-1945). For most of his life he was an independent artist, working in his studio at 87 Thuoc Bac Street.
