Addressing the event, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu highlighted the province’s efforts to recover the industry, asking Hanoi for advices to help her province achieve its goal of welcoming 905,000 visitors this year. Dak Lak is home to 49 ethnic groups, 41 accredited relics and the gong culture – a UNESCO world cultural heritage. It also houses 228 lodging facilities and a convenient transport system. Trains to increase during National Day holiday
More trains will be available during the National Day holiday to serve rising travel demand. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Railways (VNR) is planning adding many trains to popular tourist destinations to serve high travel demand during the National Day holiday, which will last from September 1 to 4. The corporation said apart from the regular daily train schedule , it will operate additional ones on routes such as Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, HCM City - Quy Nhon, HCM City - Nha Trang, HCM City - Phan Thiet, Hanoi - Vinh, Hanoi - Dong Hoi, Hanoi - Hai Phong, and Hanoi - Lao Cai. Airline cancels Vietnamese tourists’ tickets to South Korea’s Jeju Island
Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, 34 and her friends had their tickets from Singapore to Jeju Island canceled on August 9 because they did not have visas. The island, however, has a visa exemption policy for tourists. Hien, from Hanoi, said she'd already visited Jeju back in 2018 under the visa exemption policy and wasn't aware that it had changed when she booked the tickets for her and her friends to fly there from Singapore. "When we got to the Changi Airport for check-in procedures, an employee told us to discuss the issue with the airline. A representative of Scoot Airlines said Vietnamese, Thai, Mongolians and people from certain other countries would no longer be able to enter Jeju Island under the visa exemption policy. The airline said it would refund our tickets," Hien said. At a national conference between the Prime Minister and businesses last week, VABA's chairman Pham Viet Dung said: "Viet Nam's aviation market is growing rapidly on the recovery trend but not evenly in all segments." The domestic market has fully recovered compared to before the pandemic.
