HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- Police announced they had captured a suspect in a shooting on Monday that killed six people and wounded more than 36 when a man with a high-powered rifle opened fire from a rooftop at a Fourth of July parade in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park. Police confirmed they captured 22-year-old Robert E. Crimo III, who was from the area. Police can be seen surrounding a car and then Crimo exiting the vehicle with his hands raised, according to a video by the Chicago affiliate of ABC News . Crimo lies flat on the ground before police take him into custody. Charges will be filed, Highland Park Police said. The shooting caused toddlers to abandon tricycles and parents to run for safety with their children, turning a civic display of patriotism into a scene of panicked mayhem. Vietnamese leaders have sent congratulatory messages to leaders of the U.S. government and Congress on the occasion of the country’s 246th Independence Day. State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent their congratulations to U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue also extended greetings to President of the Senate Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. On the same day, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent a congratulatory message to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Crown Princess of Sweden Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree had a busy agenda in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, as part of her three-day official visit to Vietnam. Crown Princess Victoria, her spouse, and a delegation of high-ranking Swedish officials arrived in the southern Vietnamese metropolis that morning to begin the last day of her Vietnam visit, which ran from May 6 to 8. The crown princess spent more than an hour touring the Saigon River, meant as an excursion to highlight issues relating to the city’s drainage system.  Several of the city’s iconic architectural structures were also pointed out during the tour.
