Over 50 works by modern Vietnamese masters from the early generation of École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine (Indochina School of Fine Arts) will be showcased at Sotheby’s first exhibition in Vietnam - Timeless Souls: Beyond the Voyage – Hồn Xưa Bến Lạ. As well as the first exhibition in the country held by the leading arts brokers in the world, the public event is also one of the largest Indochine Art exhibitions ever staged in the country. A villa was illegally built on agricultural land of perennial trees while a restaurant was constructed on canal banks in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region, sparking an uproar as the problem has remained unsolved for long. Local officials said they noticed these illegal structures, and then reminded their subordinates to inspect these cases, but the issue was skipped over. Many residents have complained about the villa and restaurant complex built on farmland with no permits and construction certificates by Nguyen Tan T., who lives in An Phuoc Commune, Mang Thit District, located in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long. The Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported an additional 913 Covid-19 infections, raising the country's total tally to over 10.75 million. As of Wednesday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.75 million. On July 6, an additional 7,626 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.73 million. On Wednesday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded, the country's total fatalities stay at 43,089, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections. Nearly 1.1 billion USD of FDI was poured into the northern port city in the first six months, falling by over 11% from a year earlier and equivalent to almost 44% of this year’s target. FDI inflows are expected to stand at 0.85 billion USD in the third quarter and 0.85 - 1.1 billion USD in the fourth quarter. Le Trung Kien, head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority , said the city looks to surpass this year’s FDI attraction target of 2.5 billion USD.
