Scientific achievements

PANO - The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics on October 25 organized a scientific seminar, themed “Vietnam-China relationship: Reality and Issues”, under the chair of the academy’s Director Nguyen Xuan Thang who is also the President of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association. This was part of the activities in celebration of the 25 th anniversary of the normalization of the Vietnam-China ties. At the seminar A number of scientists, speakers, researchers, leading experts on foreign relations from the academy, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Affairs, academies and universities participated in the event. The festival is organized by the Hanoi municipal Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center, as part of the activities in response to Vietnam’s hosting of SEA Games 31. The event aims to popularize Hanoi capital as a safe, friendly, quality, and attractive destination and values of Vietnam’s cuisine and handicraft villages to both domestic and international visitors. Through varied activities, the festival is expected the help tourists learn more about Hanoi’s handicraft villages, including Bat Trang Ceramic Village, Van Phuc Silk Village, Phu Vinh Bamboo and Rattan Village, Quat Dong Embroidery Craft Village, and Chuon Ngo Mosaic Village, among others. Three handicraft products made by Vietnamese artisans have won the "Seal of Excellence" 2006 prize of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The prize winners, including two pottery vases produced by the Tran Minh Kinh and Chuc Hung pottery kilns and a lacquer bowl by the Kim Ma workshop, were selected from 13 entries submitted from Viet Nam . Chu Shiu-kee, Chief UNESCO Representative in Viet Nam , said the result proved that Vietnamese handicraft products have met with international standards and should gain more opportunities in the world market. Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien attended and directed the exercise. The exercise was divided into two periods, from May 9 to 13, and from May 17 to 21. The GS leader acknowledged and hailed the academy’s efforts and its trainees’ achievements over the past time. He also applauded the exercise’s steering panel in making all preparations in order to ensure the success of the event. Accordingly, the steering committee of the exercise has directed the exercise as scheduled, meeting all set targets while ensuring absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment. At a working session with the Chief Justice of Supreme People's Court of Cuba, Rubén Remigio Ferro, the Vietnamese deputy chief justice informed the host on the main reforms in the Vietnamese court system in the recent past, including enhancing the publicity of sentences, improving judicial service quality for the public and modernizing material conditions. He stressed that in its judicial reform strategy, the Vietnamese State aims to enhance the capacity of judges, build electronic courts and intensify international experience exchange. The Cuban chief justice also shared the orientation for the modernization of the Cuban court system, and noted the similar points in the process of completing the judicial system in the two countries. Spain, which is one of the world leaders in clean energy, wants to boost its partnership with Vietnam in the field, Jiménez told Vietnam News Agency in an interview on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic relations (May 23, 1977 - 2022). More and more Spanish companies are investing in Vietnam, particularly in sectors of common interest and those which suit both countries' orientations towards sustainable development, she said.
