The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on July 23 issued a document on intensifying the handling of fake news and untrue information about COVID-19 on the internet. Under the Government’s resolution on COVID-19 prevention and control issued on July 20, the ministry has been tasked with instructing the communication work, providing information in a timely manner to help people understand the situation, stay calm, sympathise with and support anti-pandemic measures, and actively implementing pandemic prevention and control measures, thus contributing to consolidating and enhancing public trust in the Party and the State. From September 15, cross-border platforms such as Facebook and Google will have to remove ads in violation of regulations within 24 hours after receiving a notice from the Ministry of Communications and Information. The Government has promulgated Decree 70 on amending and supplementing Decree 181 dated in 2013 on articles of the Law on Advertisement. The new decree was created ad per the proposal of MIC with an aim to tighten control over the activities of cross-border ad services in Vietnam by foreign platforms such as Google and Facebook. The platforms now pocket most of the revenue from digital ads in Vietnam. Under the decree, cross-border ad services in Vietnam are understood as the use of news websites by foreign institutions and individuals to do advertising from devices located overseas. The vaccination management platform is the first national technology platform shared by ministries, branches, local authorities and relevant parties to join forces to fight Covid-19. MIC Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on July 20, together with Ministry of Health (MOH) and Viettel Group, organized a nationwide training course for using the Covid-19 vaccination management platform. More than 600 medical workers from 63 cities/provinces attended the online training course. HCMC has officially allowed F1 cases to quarantine at home since July 17. The new policy is implemented with modern technologies. Face recognition The F1 (close contacts of infected person) home quarantine is being implemented on a trial basis in HCMC with the VietNam Health Declaration (VHD) app. This is also the solution chosen by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for migrant medical quarantine. Luu The Anh, Deputy Director of Viettel Solutions, the app developer, said that home quarantined people are required to check in with face recognition at certain moments of the day for medical declaration. There are schedules for medical workers or local policemen to supervise home quarantine. Singapore is applying a similar solution. In addition to being a unique and interesting natural landscape on the seabed and the habitat of thousands of marine species, coral reefs also have the potential for the sustainable development of marine eco-tourism. According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, a survey conducted in 2015 showed that there were no good reefs. The best coverage of the reefs was under 50% and average coverage across the whole bay was only about 20%. The decline of the reefs in Ha Long Bay has been mainly caused by human activities.
