As we celebrate International Women’s Day, now is a good time to look at what a peaceful city means today, in particular for women and girls, and at the many initiatives under way to ensure safety, inclusion and access for all. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is advised to compile a national framework for a supply chain to provide safe pork to serve the domestic market. Under the framework, the chain should mainly focus on the origin and quality of pork as necessary criteria for sustainable development of pig farming industry, suggested agricultural experts at a workshop held on Tuesday by the Department of Livestock Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Hà Nội. Speaking at the workshop, Võ Trọng Thành, a representative of the department, said it was estimated that pork accounted for 75 per cent of the total meat consumption in the domestic market each year. Việt Nam consumed about 3.5-3.7 million tonnes of pork per year, he said. However, it still lacks a supply chain to provide safe pork for consumers, he added. (Photo: VNA) Da Nang (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang plans to prioritise a hi-tech agricultural zone in Hoa Vang district to attract more investment in modern farming. This is one of the key tasks for the last quarter of this year to develop technical infrastructure to attract investment for sustainable economic development associated with the transformation of the city’s growth model. According to Nguyen Do Tam, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, developing hi-tech and clean agricultural production was critical to ensuring economic efficiency and sustainable agricultural development, given the city’s limited farm land.
