Documentary on President Ho Chi Minh screened in Algeria
A scene in the documentary (Photo: hochiminh.vn) Algiers (VNA) – A French-language documentary titled “Ho Chi Minh: Sketching the Portrait of a Politician” was screened in June 29 by the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria. The 58-minute documentary was produced in 1973 by French director Gérard Guillaume. It was copyrighted and stored by Ciné-Archives of the French Communist Party. The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria purchased the copyright to use the copy for screening. It reflects the revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh since his participation in the Tours Congress in 1920 and his journey to fight for the national independence. The documentary presents archives and interviews with historical figures. Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Vinh emphasised the role of the late President in the struggle for national independence, affirming that Vietnam's resistance war is a great source of encouragement for oppressed peoples around the world, including Algeria. UK multinationals pledge long-term presence in Vietnam
Vietnam expects to create the utmost favorable environment for foreign companies to be successful in the country. Vietnam-UK target US$10-billion trade turnover by 2023
UK trade minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan said the country wants to be a part of Vietnam’s development story in the 21st century, and fostering bilateral trade relations is among its priorities. Vietnam and the UK should set a trade turnover target of over US$10 billion by 2023, which would be a meaningful step to mark the 50 th anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic relations next year. The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of VND260,000 (US$11.20) in Region 1, and VND240,000, VND210,000, and VND180,000 in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from VND15,600 to VND22,500, which also depends on the region. The geographical classification is determined based on the employer’s place of operation. Region 1 covers Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City's urban areas; Region 2 encompasses Hanoi and HCMC's rural areas, along with major urban areas in the country like Can Tho, Da Nang and Hai Phong; Region 3 covers provincial cities and the districts of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces; and Region 4 comprises the rest of the country.
