On October 2, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President, Xi Jinping, sent a message of condolence to Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.
In his message, General Secretary Xi expressed his deep condolences to CPV, the Government, Vietnamese people, and the family of comrade Do Muoi. The Chinese top leader hailed former Party chief as an outstanding senior leader of the Vietnamese Party and State, a close comrade and friend of the Chinese Party and people, who dedicated his life to the cause of renovation and socialism building in Vietnam and made important contributions to the ties between the two Parties and States.
General Secretary Xi expressed his belief that under the firm leadership of the Vietnamese General Secretary, the CPV, Government and people of Vietnam will turn sorrow into power, continuing to reap new achievements in the cause of socialism building. China pledges to unceasingly foster the China-Vietnam traditional friendship, deepen mutually-beneficial cooperation and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, he said.
Also on October 2, the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, National Assembly, Government and Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction sent condolences to the CPV Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
Their messages expressed profound condolences from Lao leaders and people to the passing away of comrade Do Muoi, who was also former member of the CPV Central Committee and former member of the Politburo.
The Lao side spoke highly of comrade Do Muoi’s huge contributions to national liberation and development over his 80 years of revolutionary career. The deceased was lauded for reinforcing great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
With comrade Do Muoi’s passing, the Party, State and people of Vietnam have lost a beloved leader and a consistent communist; and also the Party, State and people of Laos have lost a close friend, the messages read.
On October 2, the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party sent a message to General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, Nguyen Phu Trong, expressing their condolences on the passing of former General Secretary Do Muoi a day earlier.
The message hailed the former senior leader for his important contributions to the cause of Vietnam’s building and developing, saying that his passing away is a loss for the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
The Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee would like to send to the Party, the Government, the Vietnamese people, and the relatives of comrade Do Muoi the deepest condolences and pray that his soul rest in eternity, the message stated.
